A Sprinkle

Mikayla is great with child, ready to deliver twins any day now.  She would like to be done with this, her last pregnancy, as she is uncomfortable and achy most of the time.  As a family, we've wanted to celebrate her and the babes, so this evening, I hosted a "sprinkle," a small shower with few people and not much fanfare.  But still a nice, lovely party where Mikayla could receive some fun things for Freya and Thea and we could be together to celebrate.  I made soup and salad, Tysen brought fruit, Mom brought bread, and I made chocolate gingerbread with caramel sauce for dessert.  I decorated a bit, with a little garland, some pink flowers, and balloons, including two mylar baby balloons.  Mikayla brought Cora, Tysen brought Ava, Sharae brought McKenna, Mom, and Gail (Mikayla's mother-in-law) and her two sisters, Julie and Jan.  We ate, we talked, we opened presents.  Although it was low key, it was so nice to be together.  Hoorah for babies, whenever they come!

Hmmm.
I wonder who gave her these shirts.
