Provo Falls

At the beginning of the summer when the DeMartinis got together to do planning, my mom expressed a desire to go to Provo Falls, in the Uintahs.  We all agreed that would be fun, but realized that if we wanted to be able to climb around the falls at all, we would need to go in the late summer, when the water wasn't rushing over the falls in great volume.

Our end of August planning paid off big time.  While there was plenty of water coming down the river, it wasn't a raging torrent like it is in the spring, and we were able to climb around in the water, over the rocks, and along the shore.  We hiked up the river for quite a ways, the kids threw rocks and sticks in the water, and we enjoyed the beauty all around us.  It was super lovely, super fun to be with cousins, and a super great way to spend a Saturday.  I'm going to gush about it to everyone I know.

On the way home, we stopped at a burger joint called Hi Mountain.  We ate burgers, fries, and milkshakes, fortifying ourselves for the drive home.  It all tasted delicious and we a nice finish to a fun day.

When we had been in the car for just over an hour, from the backseat Brandt said,
"I'm getting carsick.  I think I'm going to throw up."
Kent screeched (I exaggerate) to the side and had us all jump out and wander around.
Brandt, Blythe, and Makenna who was riding with us, almost instantly disappeared up the road and into the shrubbery.

They are hustling back to the car.

I'm standing in the middle of the river as I take my pictures.
Proof that the water wasn't too deep, or too swift.

Collin is my hiking buddy.
Brandt took this picture and about seven others before I stopped him.

Mikayla and I don't have a lot of sister pictures.
This was an attempt to change that.
Eugene fell backwards into the water,
losing his shoes and nearly ruining Sharae's phone to get this shot.

All of us with Provo Falls in the background.

My lunch.
That was a tasty burger!

We drove home through Midway and saw this eagle perched in a tree.
We also saw lots of leaves that had already turned color.
Autumn is upon us!
