It's hard to believe it, but Blythe turned 10 today. Double
digits! Blythe is growing up, and while there are certain things she
likes about it, there are others she doesn't. The whole
"maturation" part of growing up doesn't thrill her, but she can't be
big enough to wear dangly earrings, a bit of blush, and a high-heeled shoe
without the other coming along with it. I keep telling her not to be in a
hurry, but it's hard!
Blythe is bright, beautiful,
outgoing, and sensitive, espeically towards those who are struggling.
She's liked by young and old alike, probably because she's so social. She
is friendly, not intimidated by much, and, of course, she's happy. She's
our very best girl, our favorite daughter, and the light of our
lives. Look what a beauty she is.

Blythe wanted to have a pool
party for her birthday, and she asked Sister Cutler if we could do it at her
house. I love a pool party, because it's so easy for me--we swim, we have
cake, we do presents, everyone goes home. They're happy; I'm happy.
That's about how it went. Blythe invited friends, we met here and then
walked across the street to swim. After a bit, we came back to the house,
we sang and had cake, then opened presents, then did a pinata. I don't
love a pinata, but Blythe insisted that no party was complete without a pinata,
so we smacked a large flipflop and then everyone went home. I did let her
choose what we had for dinner, and she opted to go to Pizza Pie Cafe.
Grandma Sue and Mikayla and her kids joined us. All told, it was a
fabulous birthday for a fabulous girl. We love our Blythe!
I forgot to
mention pancakes for breakfast.
Those are pancakes that make a "10" and a
"B,"
in case you can't tell and they just look blobby.
We took over the
waterproof camera.
I took pictures.
Brandt took pictures.
Blythe took pictures.
We had a lot of pictures.
Not to mention a bunch of really bad video.
I'm only going to include highlights.
This is the group shot with everyone who came.
Brandt and Everett Bushman are standing at the top.
Middle standing are Lily Bradford, Addie Lepinski, Blythe, Brick,
Mia Thornock, Ellen Mason,
and Ava Davis.
Sitting in front are Luke Thornock, Grant Seamons, Bryce Moreland,
Emma Bradford, Lauren Wilkey, and Maggie Davidson.
It was a wild and crazy crew, and I'm happy to report that no one
died.
And now cake and present pictures
