Just for fun--and believe me, it was!--I had an over-nighter with my mom and sisters. We have done this before, and we find time to be together and away from our children to be very strengthening to our relationships. We had planned to be together at the end of September, but Mikayla broke her leg the day we were to go. So we rescheduled. We went to Midway to stay at the Zermatt resort. We had dinner there, then hunkered down in our suite to play games and talk. We did more talking than playing, laughing and crying a bit, as we shared good things happening in our lives. We talked about the children and challenges of parenting, shared testimony, and made plans for upcoming family activities. We slept well, had a leisurely start to the day, and came back down the canyon for breakfast at Magleby's Fresh. It really was fantastic to be with these good women I love so much and am linked to eternally. Here's to lots more weekends just like this one. Next time, however, let's go someplace warm. Like Mexico.
