100th Day of School

Today was the 100th day of school.  In kindergarten and first grade, they make a big deal about the 100th day because counting to 100 is a big deal.  It's less of a big deal once you've graduated from first grade, and most of the time it is not remarkable in any way.  This year, however, Blythe brought home wonderful 100th day of school creations.

First, she did an art work with ripped paper and felt--a self-portrait of how she'll look when she's 100.  At 100 she'll have thick white hair piled on top of her head, wrinkly skin, she'll still be sporting her pink glasses, and she'll be rockin' rid triangular shaped dangly earrings.  I absolutely love it!

The second paper she brought home had another picture and her own description of what she'll be like when she's 100.  When Kent asked her how she got the picture, she replied, "Mrs. Fueger has an app on her phone, so she took our picture and then the app showed us what we would look like."  Kent was amazed!  (He still doesn't have a smart phone, so no apps for him.)  Blythe wrote about herself, when she is 100,
I will gev out candy and tres to kids and be a grat talkr and I will be kind to evreone and evethig.  I will hellp evre whun and evrething.  And I will died.
I love that she thinks she will be kind and be a great talker.  She's kind and a great talker now, so I don't see why anything should be different in 93 years.  She'll still be pretty cute, too!
