Christmas In Color

Last year, Christmas in Color came to town for the first time.  It's an exciting, over-the-top sort of light show set to techno-pop sounding Christmas music.  You drive through all the lights and get in a festive holiday mood (I guess).  We all crammed into Mikayla's car last year, but that meant some of us were sitting on the floor and couldn't see very well.  So this year, we went in two separate cars, but followed each other.  It was all very festive, though more cramped than last year.  We wove back and forth, like being in a very long Disneyland ride, with cars close ahead and behind.  But it was fun and the kids loved it.

At one point, we were listening to a very jazzy version of Amazing Grace.  I expressed some concern that  it wasn't really a very appropriate rendering of a song about Christ's grace, all techno-ed out, dance version style.  Kent pointed out that Christmas in Color wasn't exactly a highbrow activity.  In fact, he described it as relatively tasteless.  He said, "If you want highbrow entertainment, go to the opera."  Too true.

Both of these pictures were taken after we had driven through lights.

The red lights say "Ho Ho Ho."

Both of these pictures were taken as we were driving through lights.
