A Visit to the North Pole

During the month of December, Seven Peaks magically transforms into the North Pole.  They have lots of Christmas lights, sledding down one of the waterslides, a boat ride on the lazy river, a train, and hot chocolate rather than shaved ice for sale.  We could get in free with our passes, it's a seasonal event and a fairly good time, so tonight we went.  Mikayla and Guy and their kids came, as well as Tysen with Ava and Lyla.  We arrived just as they opened, had no wait at all at the boats, did two sledding runs, and rode the train.  Blythe visited Santa with Ava and Lyla, and we enjoyed the lights.  It wasn't too cold this evening, the crowds weren't horrible, and we did have a good time.  Lyla always seems to be in a festive mood and likes my singing, so she requested several Christmas songs while we waited.  Never shy, I sang for her, even though there were always lots of other people around.  I wondered why they didn't join in.  If we had been in a musical or a cheesy Christmas commercial, one or two people would have begun singing with me, but gradually, the whole crowd would have joined and we all would have sung together.  As it was, I performed quite a lovely solo.  Twice.

Brandt and I were together in a boat.

A very young, very lean Santa.
Not terribly convincing.
