Twinkly Lights

It's Christmas time, so naturally 'tis the season to go see lights.  We aren't inclined to go see the lights at Temple Square (too many people!), so we need closer options.  The Bushmans  went to Thanksgiving Point to see their light display, and Briahna said it was worth a drive.  Kent thought it would be great if we could get Judy Sheldon and her grandson Izaiah out with us (some of his home teachees), and so I called and suggested they come with us.  Judy liked the idea, though she was concerned about how we would get her in the car (she's in a wheelchair).  We assured her we could do it, and scheduled tonight to be the night.

We were successful at getting Judy in the car, and after a stop at Panda for some portable dinner, we headed north.  Kent was concerned about there being a huge line and a long wait, but we arrived and drove right up; there was one car in front of us.  While the lights were good, we were surprised that anyone would wait any length of time to actually drive through.  Very few trees are lit, it's mostly lighted frames in fun Christmas shapes.  It was great without a wait, but we would never go if there was going to be a long wait.

I was very impressed at the concluding part of the light show.  It was completely focused on Christ as the center of Christmas, with the words and pictures to go along with the Primary song "Picture a Christmas."  The last thing you saw as you drove off into the night was a nativity scene.  It was a nice way to finish off the evening.
