DeMartini Family Christmas Party

This evening we had our annual DeMartini Family Christmas Party.  It's really just another excuse to get the kids together, eat tasty things, and do silly stuff.  Tonight was no exception.  We started with a visit from Santa which was a first and very exciting.  Well, exciting for most of the kids.  Brandt, ever distrusting of someone in a costume, stayed well away, even though Kent whispered that we know this particular "Santa helper" quite well.  Santa sang to us and had us sing with him, brought treats, and was very encouraging to one and all to be good so he'd come on Christmas Eve.

We played some very funny games, Minute to Win It types, that Sharae put together.  She always finds great games for us to play.  We celebrated Rowen's birthday with cookies, and had snowman cake to take home.  I decorated the cake which was made from not quite right wedding cake.  It wasn't wedding worthy, but it certainly was acceptable for a family party.  Finally, we did a photo booth and took lots of pictures with funny things on our heads.  Always worth a laugh.  It was a delightful time to be together.

Santa is singing to us.

Rowen is about as excited about Santa as Brandt was.
He kept turning his head and hiding.

Blythe sitting on Santa's lap.
She asked him for a Little Pet Shop Pet Jet.
We'll see if he comes through.

Brandt not sitting on Santa's lap.
In fact, he's about as far away from Santa as he can get and still be in the same room.

It's Grandma Sue and Santa with all the kids.
I did take several more of these pictures, and in one Cora is looking at me,
but three other kids aren't.
What to do?

Brandt is standing well away from Santa.

Cookie decorating.
Did I mention we did cookie decorating?
We did.
Brandt ate his immediately and had none to bring home.
Blythe overdecorated hers, then brought them home and didn't eat them.

While games and cookies and picture taking was going on,
Kent was sitting quietly.

The following photos were taken at the "photo booth."
Lots of silly pictures of silly people with silly things on their heads.
