Field Trip Friday #48--Festival of Trees

Today I took the kids to the Festival of Trees for Field Trip Friday.  They were a bit unclear about what a festival of trees was, but upon arrival, they totally got into it.  We looked at all the gingerbread houses which were super cool.  There were several Star Wars themed constructions as well a Salt Lake temple.  We looked at all the big trees, again enjoying many Star Wars themed ones, and ate a cinnamon roll.  We watched a couple of performing youth groups sing and dance (NOT the highlight of the trip), and did a bit of shopping.  Blythe was most interested in the hot chocolate stands and plans on setting up something similar in our front yard to earn a bit of money during the winter.  The children also must have asked 16 times,  "Could we pleeeeeeeeeeease buy that one?"  No. Not when each tree was over $1,000.  Maybe next year.

Trees, shopping, and a cinnamon roll for Kent.
The roll did make it home without being consumed.
Just.

A tree made of packaged Star Wars action figures.
Brandt looked longingly at this one for a really long time.
