Blythe and I were invited today to attend the Ooh La La Spa, hosted by my friend Janie, her sister Carrie, and her nieces London and Saylor. The Ooh La La Spa is based on a Fancy Nancy book of the same name and was rather fancy. Each girl who was invited was given a banana honey facial, got to soak their feet in a refreshing foot bath, have their hair braided, and get their nails done. Janie did facials, Carrie did hair (all very fancy braids), and our neighbor Stephanie Magleby did nails. Then there were parfaits to make and eat (yogurt, fruit, and granola), and magazines to peruse while waiting turns. It was super fun, and Blythe was over the moon to be invited. I took pictures and helped as needed, and was the beneficiary of a facial. Carrie and her kids have been visiting for a couple of weeks and Saylor and Blythe have connected. They became almost instant friends; they recognized a kindred spirit in each other. And I have gotten to know Carrie as we have biked and walked together, and I have found her as delightful as I find Janie.
