A Hike!

That's what Brick would have said.  A hike!  We went on a hike today, to Timpanogos Cave.  We went with practically all the DeMartinis, minus a few.  The weather was absolutely perfect!  It was overcast and threatening rain, but when it started to sort of sprinkle on us and Brandt and Blythe expressed concern about getting really rained on, we stopped on the trail and said a little prayer.  I asked that the elements be tempered so that we could hike comfortably and not be cold in the cave because we were wet, and our prayer was answered.  The rain stopped and we had a cool and lovely hike.

The kids were great hikers.  We didn't go too fast, just slow and steady, and it took us just an hour.  I had packed lots of snacks so when we stopped and needed a boost, we had one.  The tour was great.  Our ranger guy told us all sorts of interesting facts and kept the kids engaged, and except for a bit of in-fighting about who would go first, everyone was well behaved.  They didn't even touch anything.  We were glad to be hiking with cousins and doing such a fun family activity.

Not pictured: Eugene and Sharae, though they hiked too.

I love that they love each other.

And me.

Rest stop.
Lacey, Mazie, Ellie, and Andrew hiked with us too.

The view.
That sky!

Intrepid wildflower growing out of the rock.

We made it!

I wish Donovan's eyes were open.
