Fall Break Day 2 (Field Trip Friday #9)--Hee Haw Farms and a Movie

Warning: Photo Overload in this post.
If you weren't there, you probably don't want to look at all of these.

We didn't go away for Fall Break, so I am trying to find fun things for us to do to fill up our empty days.  This morning, accompanied by Mikayla and Brick, we went to Hee Haw Farms.  It was lovely out, sunny and warm, and we enjoyed being outside.  We had a hay ride (twice), did sliding big and small through tunnels and on gunny sacks, played in corn, petted animals, and "drove" tractors.  We would have done a corn maze too, but you had to pay extra and we had already paid lots, and the kids didn't really care.  It was a beautiful autumn day and a fun way to spend the morning.  We stopped at the Purple Turtle for lunch and spent lots of money on really fairly icky food.  We'll probably never go there again.

Below are cute, bright pictures of cute, bright people

While we didn't do the corn maze,
we did do this small hay bale maze.
Adequate for the company.

These are pictures from the gunny sack slide.
SO Fun!

My hair looks good!

Then off to the hayride.

Playing around the farm.

Brick bum

I love how Brick's tongue is out as he concentrates on getting through the tunnel.
Too cute!

Then we played in corn.

Into the petting farm area.
Brick patted and greeted each animal with an enthusiastic, "Hi!"

After spending the morning outside, I took the kids to see The Book of Life an animated romantic adventure story set in Mexico.  It was bright and fun and had a happy ending.  The good guy got the girl.  What a fun day!
