Tonight, while the children were supposed to be eating their dinner, they were instead playing on the floor with the contents of the bottom kitchen drawer. In particular, they were playing with the silicone ice cube trays (from Ikea). They each brought over a tray and offered us a cupcake.
Brandt was quite the salesman. He told us the cupcakes had "five fruits and vegetables." This is very funny and slightly disturbing. I have never told him anything has "five fruits and vegetables," and neither has Kent, so he is not quoting us. That means he must have gotten it watching TV. We hardly ever watch commercial television--we are a PBS sort of family--but obviously Brandt picked that up somewhere.
The result? Kent and I enjoyed a delicious cupcake, we will begin to limit TV watching time, and I am resolved to get Brandt in the kitchen baking more often.
