The Bean Museum

One of these days I would like to visit an actual bean (legume) museum, but as there is not one anywhere close by, we must be satisfied with the Monte L. Bean Museum, one of our favorites.  Last week "Aunt" Shaley organized a private reptile show for us.  We graciously allowed a couple other moms with children join us.  Wasn't that nice?  We had a chirpy young museum worker talk to us about the four different types of replites: turtles, lizards, snakes, and crocodilians.  The children were pretty good to sit and listen while she talked to us about them, but were very interested when she brought out actual real true live animals.

Brandt bravely touching Topper the turtle.
Topper would not come out of his shell.

Kristen, chirpy museum worker, holding Colonel Mustard, a bearded dragon.

Victor, a rosy boa.  Both Brandt and Blythe touched him, though very hesitantly.

Blythe coming down a whole flight of stairs--on her bum.

Brandt acting as engineer of a train.
He was giving instruction on who could get off when.

Blythe took this shot of Crew and Griffin in their matching orange shirts.

Two more Blythe shots.
She does not easily relinquish the camera.
