Helping Move

After 38 years, Georgianne and Lauren have sold their house and are moving.  They didn't find a house to move into before their house sold, so they are moving into Brendan's basement for a while and will look around at their leisure.  My mom and I have been helping with stuff packing, sorting, and disposal.  Today we made a dump run, loading both the trailer and the back of the truck with stuff that needed to be thrown away, but wouldn't fit in the garbage can.  Kent helped.  We spent several hours in the sorting and loading phase, and then Kent and I went to the dump and unloaded it all.  There was couch, several beds, lots of paint, garage and garden stuff, and general "what do we do with this?" things that were piled on.  We made a stop at Mikayla's for a dresser that had fallen apart, and picked up Cora and Kal to have an outing and be our truck buddies.  Who doesn't like an exciting trip to the dump?  There are birds and big equipment and a pungent funk in the air; it's all very stimulating.  While I wouldn't like to do it every day, manual labor is very satisfying.  Seeing a big task completed always gives me a sense of gratification I quite like.

This was just the beginning of a very full load!
