Brenda has been in town off and on since last month. This evening we invited her and her children, any who were around, to come and join us for a Sunday evening treat. In the end, Brenda is the only one who could come. I had made pie, but she left without a piece, so the eating of it fell to us alone, and mostly Kent and me alone because the children are weird about pie. It was a lovely evening and we played bocce ball together outside in the backyard. Our lawn was far too long; the small ball kept getting lost in the tall grass, and you couldn't roll the big balls at all. But we had a good time and talked as we played. For the record, not to brag or anything, but I won. The kids want our next interaction with Brenda to be in Taiwan. We'll see, although it doesn't seem very likely.
