Seven Peaks

Mikayla and I took our kids, less Freya and Thea, to Seven Peaks today.  We heard that under new ownership they had made improvements, we got passes for only $10 each, and we hadn't been yet, so we braved it.  We were fairly certain that Brick could go down slides by himself, that Mikayla could Cora and I could take Kal, and we'd have a great time.

Turns out, it was a bit of a disappointment.  Rules have changed, so Brick wasn't tall enough to go on most of the slides, though he could go on a tube with an adult.  There are no more lap riders allowed, so Cora and Kal couldn't do any of the big slides, even though some of them are super slow.  The large kiddie pool area was closed, leaving only a small kid area with lame-o slides available for Cora and Kal to play in.  The wave pool was very chilly and the waves were noticeably less wavy this year.  Several slides were closed, including Avalanche, the Vortex, and Cave-In, though we did get to ride that one once between the time it opened and the time it closed 20 minutes later.  The obstacle course was closed, the big swing was closed, and the hot tubs were closed.  Cora and Kal didn't last even an hour and were only really happy in the lazy river.  Mikayla took them home and left Brick with me.  We did a couple more things, but weren't far behind them.  We went at 10:00am and left about 12:00pm.

I'm not sure we'll go back again this summer.
