Primary Talk

Today Brandt spoke in Primary.  He didn't really want to.  However, after chatting with him about the importance of accepting callings and doing what we're asked, especially at church, he agreed.  And as a bonus, it covered a requirement for his Faith in God and scout religious knot.  Only one requirement left for the knot!  Here is his talk, which he read very confidently.

The first principle of the gospel is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Nephi showed great faith in Jesus Christ.  He was commanded to go get the brass plates from Laban.  Nephi made a deal with Laban that in exchange for all their gold and silver, he would give Nephi the plates.  Laban agreed, but took their gold and silver and sent guards to kill Nephi and his brothers.  Nephi wanted to be obedient and had faith that he could do what he was asked to do.  With Jesus' help, he was able to kill Laban, get the plates, and return to his family.

We are sometimes asked to do hard things in order to return to our Heavenly Father.  If we have faith, we can do everything we are asked to do and will be able to return to Heavenly Father.  I know the Book of Mormon is true.  I know Jesus lives and we will be resurrected.  In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
