Moab for Fall Break, Day 1

We are spending three-ish days in Moab, two and a half really.  We had made a plan on what we wanted to do while here, what we wanted to eat, and how we should break up the days activities.  Eugene, Sharae, and their kids got up early and drove down today, so we had some time this morning before they arrived to get ourselves organized a bit.  Guy took Brandt and Brick to play disc golf while we were waiting for the others to arrive.  They had a good time.  I'm not sure who won, but I'm fairly confident it didn't really matter.

When they returned and Eugene and Sharae had arrived, we loaded up and went to hike Powerhouse Falls.  This is a relatively easy hike, largely flat, crosses the stream a few times, and comes to a stop at this lovely waterfall.  The kids played in the water, threw rocks, climbed around, dueled with sticks.  We were the only ones there for quite a while and had a marvelous time.  I carried Thea who is sick and who slept most of the time.  It was beautiful and so nice to be out enjoying nature.

Although we made practically all of our meals at the house, we did opt for one meal out, lunch after our hike.  We went to Milt's, a Moab favorite.  We got burgers, fries, and shakes, all very tasty.

The rest of the day we hung around the house, played games, did laundry, watched TV/movies, and got in the hot tub.  We talked and talked and tried to keep everyone happy.  It was a good day together.  I did take some additional pictures from our day's activities, but while playing with my waterproof camera, Kal deleted them all.  I have no idea how he did it, but he did.  Every single one.
