Fall Soccer Comes to an End

Today was Blythe's last soccer game of the season.  They had their first win in two seasons!  It was amazing.  We were thrilled that they scored not one, but two goals, and beat the other team.  It was a triumph, one that came through hard work.  The girls have improved quite a bit during their fall play, passing the ball much better, and working together.  It's been fun to watch Blythe try to be aggressive and work with her teammates.  She has liked playing, and Kent and I both feel that being part of a team and having the responsibility to show up and do her best has been good for her.  Mrs. Harrington, her fourth grade teacher, came to watch the game as five of the girls on the team are in her class.  We were all convinced that she was their good luck charm and that they won because Mrs. Harrington was there.  Whatever the reason, they finished with a bang!

When I asked Blythe what she liked best about playing soccer, she said, "I like being defense and I liked having control of the ball when other people were trying to take it away.  I liked scoring goals."
And that's it.
