Fourth Festivities Part Four

Monday afternoon, following the parade, we came home for a bit so I could make ice cream.  I had it freezing away in the kitchen sink when Blythe came in and yelled, "Mom! What is that horrible noise?!"  So funny.  When I told her it was ice cream, she was a bit less irritated by the noise, but only just.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Barrus' house for a barbecue in the afternoon, after a swim at Grandma and Grandpa DeMartini's house.  The food delicious--Uncle Lee barbecued tri-tip and salmon.  George called that morning and asked if I might make his mother's tutti-fruitti ice cream, so I did, as well as Oreo ice cream.  Michelle made strawberry sorbet which was cool and sweet.   The company was convivial and Brandt and Blythe ran around the house and all through the yard with their cousins and ate virtually nothing except Cheetos.

The cousins, big and small, played some goofy soccer-like game.
Brandt, cautious by nature, chose not to participate.
