Family Pictures in Carpinteria

One of the things we wanted to do while we were in California was take family pictures. We were all going to be there (sort of) and we wanted to capture the moment. We are always missing Bryan and his family which always makes us sad. But the rest of us were going to be together, so pictures were important. We talked about hiring someone, but in the end, decided we could do it ourselves with Mikayla's tripod and remote control picture taker.

After running around Camarillo, we met at the beach in our casual dress to take sandy-footed shots. We laughed a lot while we took pictures, and we missed Guy who was home with Kila. Brandt and the big boys talked to some girls from Lehi who were also in California for fall break and Brandt got the phone number of one of them. He felt very brave for asking and then thrilled when she gave him her number! Maybe he'll call and they'll get together for a group not-date as neither of them is sixteen yet. We also talked to an interesting guy who studied religion, had very positive feelings about the "Mormons" and thought it was wonderful we were all together in California. He talked and talked while eating ice cream and only left us when his father determinedly gestured for him to go. We were a bit relieved.

Here are the results of our picture taking. I love them all!

I love this picture
and I really, really, really wish Bryan was in it.

I had to write this three times because the first two times,
the water came up and washed over what I had scratched out in the sand.

Our final beach sunset.
