Sporty Date

This evening, Brandt and I went to a BYU football game.  Kent ministers to President and Sister Worthen, and a couple of months ago, Brandt went over with Kent to visit them.  They like Brandt, and when Brandt less than delicately asked if they could get him tickets to a game, they graciously said yes.  So he's been bugging me to make arrangements because he has really wanted to go to a game.  I worked it out with Peggy, and tonight was the night.  BYU was playing Utah State, and even though it was a popular game, the Worthens left us super great seats.  I felt guilty when we discovered we were sitting on the sixth row of seats, just above the lower concourse, at the 40 yard line.  So nice!!  Peggy had also left us coupons for concessions, so all our junk food costs were covered, too.

Sadly, in spite of our great seats, it wasn't a brilliant game.  It was cold, we weren't dressed adequately, and BYU lost horribly.  USU was on fire, and BYU was not.  It was a groaner of a game, and when BYU fumbled at the end of the third quarter for yet another turnover, I told Brandt we were leaving, even though he wanted to stay until the bitter end.  Too bitter for me.  We had ridden over on the scooter and zipped home, quickly but frigidly.  It was a lousy game, but it was super great to be with Brandt.
