Hiking to Buffalo Peak--Field Trip Friday #68

We had a field trip this afternoon, a beautiful hike to Buffalo Peak.  I knew the colors would be glorious this week, it was warm with a slight breeze, and the air was clear, so we went for a sporty, moving about activity.  The hike wasn't long but the view was terrific.  We called Kent from work and told him to go outside and wave to us from his office.  We couldn't really see his office, but we saw the road right by it and knew where it was.  I enjoyed being with just the two children, no friends and other distractions, and I liked our talk.  They really do open up when we are in nature.  And the nature was beautiful, the colors of the leaves rich and exciting.  Here's to fall!  And here's to hiking!

This is the peak we're hiking to.

I let the children take turns holding the camera and taking pictures of what they wanted.
As a result, I have duplicates of everything.
Six pictures of this and eight pictures of that.
They were fairly indiscriminate.

10 selfies of Brandt, each of which look almost exactly like this one.

I wanted a picture of me and one of the children at the top.
No one cooperated.
Brandt wouldn't hold still and look decent,
and Blythe kept messing around with the camera.
This is as good as it got,
and it's not very good.

Kent's office in the distance.

Our neighborhood along the edge of the mountain,
but our house can't bee seen.
We're too close.
