- We have house guests! Brian and Veronica Kisby, who used to live in our ward, came to stay overnight with their children, Lance, Spencer, Ivy, and Jordan. They are on their way from a family reunion at Bear Lake to California to spend a week at the beach, and they wanted to stop and see us. They were going to spend the night in a hotel, and I suggested they just stay with us. We don't have extra beds, but I figured Brian and Veronica could sleep in Brandt's room, Brandt and the boys could camp out in the backyard in a tent, and Blythe and Ivy could sleep in a different tent on the other side of the yard. No one would be too cramped, the kids love to camp in our very own yard, and we would all have a great time.
Turned out just like I had anticipated. They arrived mid-afternoon and we went over to the Cutler's house to swim. We had a delicious barbecue dinner, with pork tenderloin, salad, sourdough bread, fruit, and caprese salad, with Izzys to drink. We had ice cream for dessert. We talked and talked and talked and talked while the kids warmed up to each other and eventually talked and talked, too. Veronica and I went for a walk around the neighborhood and stopped off at the Robison's to see the house where they used to live. Brandt and Spencer (only a year apart in age) got along famously, as did Blythe and Ivy (the same age). Lance was above it all, and Jordan was a bit too young to really get into it, but we had a splendid evening.

I think it was better than this picture would lead you to believe.
