Blythe came downstairs this morning sporting this very fashionable ensemble. She'd picked everything out herself--of course!--and looked ready for something fancy. Unfortunately, we had absolutely nothing on the agenda and she spent most of the day playing in the vacant lot across the street with Ellen Mason and Sarah Oyler. She did change her shoes and take off the jewelry for that activity, but the dress and hat remained. She is a girl in charge of her wardrobe. Too bad she's also not more in control of her social activities. She needed a tea party or luncheon to attend.
