Haircuts

The children have needed haircuts--desperately!!!  Kent has tried to take Brandt a couple of times over the past several months, but he refused to go.  His hair has looked pretty bad.  As a mom, I want to give my children as much control over their lives as possible and not nitpick about everything.  So when Brandt said he didn't want a haircut, I said fine.  He has looked really shaggy.  Blythe has also not wanted to get her hair cut.  She wants to grow it out and have it be long, like Auntie Lala's.  The only problem is that when her bangs start to get in her eyes, she pulls out the scissors and snips it off herself.  Her hair needed shaping so it would grow out looking better too, so I made an appointment.

Saturday was the day.  After talking to Caitlyn, Blythe agreed that she needed a cut and was good to go.  Brandt, however, began wailing dramatically that he didn't want a haircut.  In the spirit of compromise, I suggested that perhaps he get a trim.  And then I offered an ice cream treat if he would.  He countered with his willingness to have a cut if Kent would come too, and if we got ice cream.

So off we all went.  Blythe eagerly volunteered to go first, chatted with Caitlyn during her cut, and came away with a cute bob that suits her.  Brandt reluctantly went back, wanted Kent to come with him, and looked largely uncomfortable through the whole "ordeal."  He looks much better with his short cut, and we won't need to take him back for months.  The after cut ice cream was delicious too.
