A P Party

We had a P party, a P party that had nothing to do with the bathroom (just for clarification).  We have been talking about it all week and I have had to explain repeatedly to Blythe that it is not a tea party, but a P party.  We invited all the DeMartini cousins plus Jack and Simon Tanner, Conner Phillips, and Maia Case to come play party games and have treats.  It was (can you guess?) pandemonium.

We played P games--Pop the balloon, Pass the Potato, bounced a pink poodle in a parachute, and then pounded a pineapple piñata.  All of our treats began with P too: popcorn, potato chips, pickles, peppers, pea pods, peanuts, pistachios, pizza, purple punch, pineapple, pretzels, and pita triangles.  Yum!  Although it was craziness, I think everyone had a good time.

Blythe and Brandt helping with piñata preparation.
The excitement in the air was palpable.

All the children gathered before our Pop game.
Jack, Griffin (wearing Ava's purple shirt), Crew (wearing Ava's pink shirt), Brandt, Blake (in plaid), Maia (who brought over Picachu), Luke (also in plaid), Blythe (wearing her pink panda shirt and patterned pants), Simon, and Conner.  Ava and Makenna were on the porch, being party poopers.

Luke and Jack, popping their balloons.

As she popped her balloon, Blythe lost her balance and tipped over backwards onto the ground.
Crew saw that and didn't want to suffer the same fate, so he popped his balloon with his foot.

Playing Pass the Potato.

Blythe was the first one out in Pass the Potato.  She didn't seem to mind.
She came over and ran the music.

Brandt made it to the last three, but it was Conner who won.

The pink poodle in the middle of the parachute.
The poodle ended up stuck in the prickly bushes behind the children, and that ended the parachuting.

Brandt did not want to take a turn pounding the piñata.
He helped me work the rope instead and had a great time.
I love that face!

We did youngest to oldest with the pounding.  So Blythe started, then Crew and Griffin.

Then Ava, Luke, and Maia.

Somehow I didn't get a picture of Makenna.
Here are Conner and Jack.
I also didn't get a picture of Simon because he pounded the piñata once, the stem came off the body of the pineapple, and the whole thing fell to the ground.
That also prevented Blake from having a turn.
Everyone dove in and went crazy.

 Our P food treats.
Popcorn and pineapple were the most popular.

Two cute pictures of Collin, wearing plaid, one with his hands in his mouth, and one without.
He smiled at me which is an improvement over the last time when he cried at me when I said hello.
