Discovery Museum With Cousins

There was no school today and we needed an outing, so we took Tracks to Salt Lake and went to the Discovery Museum.  I had arranged to go with Tysen and her crew, but when it came down to it, my kids wanted to ride the train just the three of us.  We caught an early train and rode up, then waited for Tysen and her kids so we could help get everyone off the train (Tysen is pregnant and Lyla is a heavy moose--a really cute heavy moose).  It was great to be on the train together.  We watched out the window, we played Pass the Pig and dominoes, and read several stories while we waited for the DeMars to arrive (about half an hour).

One and all had a fabulous time at the Discovery Museum.  Brandt and Blythe always love to be with their cousins and they always love the museum.  Unfortunately, I can never get a decent picture at the museum.  They kids are always running around wildly, so the shots are either blurry, dark, or I get backs of heads.  Today was no different.  I did manage to get two really great shots, but only two.  Oh well.

We had a fun time on the train home.  We played games again, this time with Griffin, Crew, and Ava, and talked and laughed together.  It was a fun day.

Our grocery store clerk.

Brandt is loading veg.
He and Crew and Griffin cleared out all the fruit and veg bins in the grocery store,
then proceeded to move bread and cans and pretty much anything they could get their hands on,
and sent it up and down the conveyor belt.
I eventually intervened and suggested they share some of the products with others.

Ava and Blythe got in on the action too.

Backs of heads.

Ava is looking my way, though not at me.

I love this intent, cooperative play.

That's probably close to every can at the Discovery Museum there on the conveyor.

Blythe looked, but Brandt didn't.
He is way, way too busy.

Lyla wanted and turn and is holding her own (as well as Crew).

Blythe in front of the green screen.
She was giving us the news.

About the weather.

About road work.

And about wild horses.

Our group was talking to another group of kids across the museum through that tube.
They were also sending flag messages across the pulleys.

One of two truly good pictures.

And the second truly good picture.

So busy.
So fun.
