Days with Cousins

Cousin Lyla is in the hospital again with pneumonia and so Ava, Crew, and Griffin have been with us the past two days.  Fortunately the weather has been lovely, so we have been outside most of the time they have been here.  Today I had the boys help me dismantle an outdoor bench and shelf, using hammers to whack away.  To say they enjoyed it is an understatement.

In addition to whacking, Brandt introduced the Dudes to his new favorite activity.  Yesterday, in an effort to get a bit of exercise, I pulled out the jogging stroller, strapped Blythe in, and had Brandt ride his bike next to me as I ran (or slogged, which is a more accurate assessment of my speed).  It wasn't an entirely successful exercise session as we had to stop, a lot, to get Brandt up and down the curbs.  When we got home, Brandt strapped on his "crash helmet" and rode the stroller down the driveway, across the street, and into the driveway of the across-the-street-neighbors.  It made for endless good fun, although dangerous because no one ever looks before launching off.

All in pieces and lined up on the street like a "train."

Riding down the driveway.
Fun, with the benefit of being dan-ger-ous!
