After weeks of biking preparation, Mikayla and I traveled to Cache Valley for Little Red Riding Hood. We stayed in a darling AirBnB in Wellsville, a house that is also a small farm. It was absolutely charming. Although we did not drive up with them, nor did we bike with them, we stayed with Janie Rasmussen and a couple of other friends, including Katie Lloyd, a friend of Mikayla's. They were all biking 100 miles and Mikayla and I were biking 17. They started much earlier than we did.
The ride was terrific. The weather was perfect and Mikayla was able to complete the whole ride. She just kept pedaling, which is what you have to do in a bike ride and in life. I was so impressed with her effort, especially knowing she is in pain all the time and that doing this ride was really hard for her. I was so proud of her!
In addition to having a great ride, we also got to talk and talk and talk. We had so much uninterrupted time together. I loved it!
