Just when I think the children are outgrowing certain activities, they surprise me with their enthusiasm and interest. Take gingerbread houses. I was fairly confident Brandt and Blythe would not be inclined to decorate gingerbread trains, but they were very excited about it. Fortunately, they have arrived at an age when I don't have to help as much as I used to. I did give some assistance in the assembly, holding pieces together, but as far as the decorating went, I stood back and let them do their thing.
Maybe next year I'll get fancy and bake our own structures.
Maybe not.
