Laboring

Today was a wonderful day.  We started off the day with breakfast up Hobble Creek Canyon with my family.  All the DeMartinis were there less Bryan, Melissa, and Donovan.  Too bad for them.  They missed out.  We had pancakes, bacon and sausage, cinnamon roll casserole, fruit, juice, and chocolate milk.  We played in the park and the water, chased around the dogs, Bridget and Kila, and talked and laughed.

When breakfast was finished, Brandt said, "Now let's go swim at Grandma Sue's!"  Who am I to argue with a good idea?  I said, "Okay, let's go."

Brandt said, "Really? You aren't teasing?"  No teasing.  We went swimming.

While I took the children swimming, Kent painted the deck.  Our deck is in terrible shape and we intend on removing it all together, but we are having a teacher appreciation dinner for Primary workers on Thursday, and something had to be done.  So on Saturday Kent sanded it all, and today he stained it.  It looks much, much better.  We should have done it months ago.

This evening we hosted a Barrus Family barbecue.  We sat out in the backyard and once again ate yummy food while talking and laughing.  George and Merlynn, David and Sharon and their crew plus friends, Craig and Monica, and Ian with his roommate Zack were all with us.  I made Caribbean salad with mango, pineapple, coconut, red pepper, cucumbers, macadamia nuts, cucumber, avocado, and green onions.  It was super tasty!

It really was a great day, and I didn't take a single picture.  I just enjoyed the day without worrying about capturing every moment.
