Woo hoo! Boo is two!

Our Blythe is two.  I was in Logan biking on her actual birthday (yesterday), so we celebrated today.  She did have a party with the Nortons yesterday, so she got two parties.  I hope she doesn't start thinking she gets as many parties as years she is turning.  This evening we met family at North Park to enjoy the brass band  concert and have birthday goodies.  I had ordered sugar cookies from Provo Bakery (YUM!) and made cupcakes, and Aunt Michelle brought chocolate chip cookies too.  The children played for a bit on the equipment, but mostly they stayed and listened to the music.  Brandt conducted, Blythe danced, we all enjoyed it.

We feel so blessed to have Blythe in our home.  She is a cheerful little person who adds such joy to our lives. Although she hasn't lived with us quite a full year, it feels like she has always been here.  She certainly belongs.  She is talking up a storm and loves to talk to anyone who calls.  I should have her field all the solicitation calls we get.  She is a tease and has a funny sense of humor and mischievous streak.  She is fearless, hardly intimidated at all, and opinionated.  She loves to play and is a true girlie girl.  She loves to hold and caress cousin Lyla, and carts her dolls around the house, sometimes even making me change their diapers.  She got a purse, brush and lip gloss from Grandma Dawn and this morning brushed Kent's hair three times, just to make sure it looked good, and then applied some lip gloss to his lips.

Kent's comment about that?  "Blythe is a girl.  Brandt has never combed my hair."

So here are pictures from Blythe's birthday party/concert in the park.

Before we left for the park our friends the Tanners came by.
Simon and Jack (pictured here with Blythe) brought Blythe some darling clothes and the cute cow Jack is holding.  We sure do like these people and know they like us too.
I think it is funny how they are all leaning to the right as though the wind was blowing really hard.
It wasn't.

Cookies and cupcakes to celebrate.

A cute balloon bouquet that floated away into the tree.
Ava kept asking me how we were going to get them down.
My response?
"We aren't."

Listening to the band.

Doesn't it look like Blythe is conducting music that the others are supposed to be singing?

Luke, Ava, and Brandt
They will all be four this year.
Our bumper crop.

Listening and watching.

Brandt conducting.
There were a whole lot of people at the concert, but Brandt stood confidently before them all and conducted.
In other circumstances he is so shy, but when it comes to music, he is quite the performer.

Singing to Blythe and then blowing out the candles.

Our sweet two year old.
