Purdue

This afternoon Kent had a meeting at Purdue with a cement specialist, and while he went and chatted, Tad gave the rest of us a brief tour of campus.  We went to see Neil Armstrong, several fountains, and John Purdue himself.  The children got wet in a fountain, Blythe found a roly poly she wanted to keep forever and take back for her "collection" ("And how will that work on the airplane?" I asked.), and although we were going to stop for frozen yogurt on the way home, it was dinner time and I was a party pooper, wanting to make sure the children actually ate something good for them at dinner.

A fountain.
Graduates run through this one in their cap and gown.

It was not super warm and I suggested to the children that they not get wet.
As you shall see, my warnings were not heeded.

Quad around the fountain.

Fountain with the bell tower in the background.
We went to walk under the bell tower in order to increase our smarts.

It's awfully hard to resist a fountain.

Brandt, Blythe, and Neil Armstrong

Moonwalk footsteps.
This picture doesn't do the spacing justice.
I really had to stretch my long legs to get my feet centered.

Replica of the landing capsule hanging in the Neil Armstrong Engineering Building.

Piece of moon rock.

This is an engineering exhibit with all sorts of interactive stations.

What did I say about the irresistibility of a fountain?
Within 15 minutes of having taken this picture, Blythe was complaining she was cold.
No kiddin'!

Walking under the bell tower with the hope of getting smarter.
