FHE

Remarkably, we had a really nice family home evening today.  Both Kent and I said, when all was said and done, "That went really well."  We began by going over the schedule for the week, focusing on the activities involving the children.  Then Kent said we were each going to share one thing we were thankful for.  One hardly seemed enough, so I suggested we share three.  Everyone agreed, and Blythe said, "I will get a beanbag."  Kent was momentarily confused about what the beanbag was for, but Blythe said, "We will throw  it to each other."  She turned to go upstairs and passed a stuffed horse.  She picked it up and said, "We will use this."  So, we each took turns throwing the horse to each other and sharing things we are thankful for.  Highlights include:

Kent: friends and neighbors, healthy bodies that work well, that we can pray to Heavenly Father, work and good people to work with, and reading.

Katherine: our new home, our little family, ice cream, my bike, and getting to be in Primary.

Brandt: Disneyland, Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland, school, our family, our neighbors and friends, and family home evening (score!).

Blythe: family, a warm house, good neighbors.

I then taught everyone a short Primary song, "I am glad for many things," complete with sign language, and then we had ice cream.  No one had a pout, no one threw a fit, everyone participated, and everyone was happy.  It was fantastic!  And the ice cream was tasty too.

Us, with the "beanbag" horse and our ice cream.
Although Blythe's bowl is not shown, she got some too.
