Breakfast up the canyon

Although we went canoeing on Friday last week, we felt a need to commune with nature a bit further and went up the canyon for breakfast on Saturday.  Food always tastes better when eaten in the mountains.  All DeMartinis were there except Uncle Bryan (who had to work), the Barri, and the Tanners who have been unofficially adopted.
First thing upon arrival, Brandt, Kent, and Darren saw a raccoon peeking out of a trash can.
We all wanted to see the little creature make its escape from the can, and so we watched.
And watched.
It wouldn't come out.

Heidi sitting in the river so she has a great shot of the raccoon . . .
that never actually emerged from the can.

Cooking for the masses, if 21 people count as "the masses."

The children saw and were enraptured by . . .
a squirrel.
