Water fight, sandwiches, lazing, and a dragon

Thursday last, July 1st, we began our weekend celebrating by playing at Grandma Dawn's house.  She has a small pool and we went to "swim."  Considering that Brandt is a big tease, we had more of a water fight than a swim.  Dawn had saved several dish detergent bottles and we used those to squirt each other.  The water was too cold for Blythe; she neither wanted to squirt nor be squirted, but she ran around the yard.
Brandt threw this water ball at me.
He hit me square in the chest.
And then he squirted me.

The cold water only appealed to Blythe as something to drink.

Stand back! Brandt has the hose!

After all the racing around the yard, we went inside for lunch.  Grandma Dawn has a cool contraption that simultaneously removes crusts and makes an indentation in the bread too.  Something about having a crust-free, stamped bread sandwich made our peanut butter and honey much tastier.

That's a pig stamped in that bread.

After lunch we got to laze around in the hammock.  It was warm, there was a lovely breeze, and we watched the clouds blow by.  I love to snuggle with the children.
Look at those cute bodies!

Not only did we get a water fight, crust-less sandwiches, and a swing on the hammock, Aunt Alisa came over and brought her bearded dragon, Belle.  The children were entranced with the lizard and Brandt especially asked lots of questions, like, "Does it breathe fire?"  They both tentatively petted Belle and were delighted when she ran across the room--she was fast and moved in such an interesting way.

Both children almost immediately jumped on Dawn as soon as she lay down.

Look at that super cool creature!

It's Grandma Horsey!

We had a great time playing at Grandma Dawn's house!
Thanks for the fun day!
