Movie Night

Guy and Mikayla have been looking forward to the release of Godzilla vs Kong. When we were together some weeks ago, she mentioned they were going and would I be willing to watch her kids while they were away. Brandt overheard the conversation and said, “I want to go see Godzilla vs Kong!” Mikayla was willing to take him, but it meant Brandt needed to see the two previous Godzilla movies, Godzilla (from 2014) and Godzilla: King of Monsters. He came with me a couple of weeks ago to Mikayla’s and after getting kids in bed, we all watched Godzilla. He went over to their house again last week so that he could watch King of Monsters. Then this evening, Guy, Mikayla, Brandt, Blake, and Luke all went to see Godzilla vs Kong. It got mixed reviews. There was lots of urban destruction, monster stomping, and overall silliness on a gigantic scale, but entertaining.

In other entertaining news, while everyone was at the movie, Blythe and I were at Mikayla's house with all of her children. Kal tried to jump up onto the counter, slipped, and bit his tongue horribly. It was deep and bled and bled and bled. It looked horrible, and so, unsure how to get it to stop bleeding, called UV Pediatrics to talk to the night nurse. I even texted him a picture. He assured me it would be fine, and after using a dozen or more paper towels to try and get it to stop bleeding, it did. Kal said, "Look Grantie Kake! I okay!"

Phew!

After tongue drama, story reading, and the turning out of lights, Blythe and I snuggled together downstairs and watched Dora, the Explorer. It's a movie based on the PBS animated program featuring Dora who speaks Spanish, her little monkey friend, and her talking backpack. The movie was as ridiculous as you would imagine, but it was fun to have one-on-one time with Blythe. And I was super grateful for her help getting everyone to bed.
