Cosmo Stops By

As we were lying in bed reading to the children, this evening, someone pulled into the cul-de-sac with music blaring.  It was so loud!! I couldn't image who would it could be, but thought maybe it was someone picking up one of the Oylers.  The music stopped, but then, after just a moment, it started up again.  Blaring!  Blythe looked out the window and said, "Mom! The Cosmobile just pulled into the cul-de-sac."  We went downstairs and outside to investigate, Blythe still in her nightgown.  Sure enough, it was the Cosmobile, with Cosmo and a number of cheerleaders.  They were going around to doors, knocking and encouraging residents to come outside and party with Cosmo.  BYU plays UofU tomorrow, and they were wanting to generate excitement over the game.  I asked what led them to our neck of the woods, and one of the cheerleaders said they were just cruising around town trying to hype people up.

Blythe, Kent, and I came out.  Brandt didn't.  He knows Cosmo is just a guy dressed up like a cougar, but you can't trust anyone who wears a costume.  Kent went back in and read some more.  The Oylers came out, and the Crawleys, Dan Passmore stuck his head out, and I think one of the Sheets.  But otherwise, it was a pretty tame party.  The cheerleaders told us to call people and get them out, and then I suggested they go down the street to a more lively cul-de-sac.  They hopped in the van and went down the street.

Just after they had pulled out, Brian, Lilly, and Emma Bradford appeared.  I had called them, but they were too slow getting out.  I told them to load up in the car and we drove down to the lower Ivory Homes cul-de-sac where the party had moved to.  There was a much better reception down there.  Lots of people came out to dance and bop around, get swag, and be all pumped up.  It was great fun!  Blythe danced around with the cheerleaders and other little girls.  After about 15 minutes, they loaded up again and drove off, loudly, into the night.  Here's hoping our celebrating leads to celebrating at tomorrow's game.

*Post edit note:  BYU lost to UofU.  Again.
