FHE (Family Home Evening)

I have blogged in the past about family home evening which we faithfully hold on Monday evenings with varying degrees of success.  This week we sang.  That's all.  The children were full of beans and would not sit still for even a moment.  I had been sitting across the living room from Kent, but the children were making so much noise I had to sit next to him so we could hear each other.  Brandt and Blythe are certainly not quiet children.

Though we only sang, we did sing a lot, and good songs.  We had sang rousing renditions of "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam," "'Give,' Said the Little Stream," and "Scripture Power," which we sang three times.  We began learning "Scripture Power" in Primary on Sunday, and Brandt really likes it.  We went to the distribution center on Tuesday and got both children a small Book of Mormon so they have something to hold up when we sing, and something to hold when we read together each evening.

In their enthusiasm about the singing, they both pulled up chairs, got a chopstick from the utensil drawer, and conducted.

Can you see the feeling and emotion Brandt is trying to coax out of us?
He is our little maestro.
