Early Birthday

Today was Blythe's early birthday celebration at school.  While I don't think of this sort of thing as a really big deal, for Blythe, it totally is.  She had definite ideas about what should be happening today, what treat she should bring, and what she should wear.  For her treat, she insisted--absolutely insisted--that she take Lego shaped candies.  She wanted everyone to get their own little bag.  She could not be persuaded to take anything else, so I had to put together lots of little baggies of Lego candies.  Then she had to wear a whole special outfit, including her Easter bonnet, all of which she stashed in a box that she put next to her bed so it would be ready first thing in the morning.  You can't tell, but there is a skirt and leggings and shirt and even a clean pair of underwear, as well as the hat.  She was prepared.  She brought home a cute poster Ms. Medaris made for her with all of her classmates signatures, and was pleased as Punch that she got to be the special girl today.  Happy early birthday B!
